The Master of Arts in Education Major in Physical Education is a graduate degree program geared towards developing physical education teachers and managers who are equipped with advanced knowledge and skills in teaching, sports coaching, research and evaluation, dance composition and choreography, and administration of PE programs. This thesis program also aims to develop competencies of education professionals to undertake research in physical education to contribute new knowledge in the field. Graduates in this program will be skilled in designing instructionally aligned, evidence-based physical education programs.

Major in Teaching Arts

Master of Arts in Education major in Teaching Arts is a 45-unit masteral degree program that offers foundation and major courses to enhance the students’ understanding of the basic theories, processes and applications of arts, culture, heritage in the culture-based teaching of the basic education curriculum. MaEd in Teaching Arts students can apply classroom concepts in professional settings through internships and independent studies at numerous arts organizations in the own region.

Students go through intensive practice and research-based components in learning various arts forms that can be applied in the classroom. The students are exposed to actual practice by artists/experts in the region through a guided apprenticeship works. They are also required to produce a professional production and or exhibit as part of their ongoing learning while enrolled in the program.

The Master of Education in English, a non-thesis master’s program in the discipline of English language education, is designed to enhance the pedagogical competence of English teachers and instructors in all levels. Moreover, the courses in the program focus on helping the English teachers design strategies and techniques to improve their own students’ language skills and communication competence and in developing various methodological approaches to curriculum development in order to further advance their skills in the teaching of the English language.

The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Program of LSU is a part-time professional doctoral program, conceived as part of the University’s commitment to provide quality education to those in Northwestern Mindanao interested in developing themselves. This program harnesses the abilities of its candidates to differentiate themselves in their respective industries through creative and thoughtful thinking, coupled with a caring heart that work toward inclusive development.

It can no longer be business as usual. Business education at the doctoral level is beyond teaching the functional areas. Business and management practitioners have greater accountability that is no longer confined to its employees, clients, suppliers, and owners. Individual and organizational decisions have great impact on society and the environment. Consequently, in the assessing performance, businesses are judged on how best it is able to balance its obligations to its society, the environment, and its shareholders, equally. This program is targeted to those who teach business education, who are management practitioners, and who conduct research in the field. Research is integral to the doctoral degree as it aims to bridge theory and practice. The output of business research is more applied than esoteric but nonetheless grounded on sound theoretical framework.
