LSU partners with Ozamiz Parole and Probation Office
To formalize a partnership supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of parolees and probationers, La Salle University (LSU) and the Parole and Probation Office (PPO) of Ozamiz City signed a Memorandum of Agreement on January 13.
The agreement established a collaboration between the two institutions in implementing education and values-based formation programs for individuals under probation and parole supervision.
“This partnership is more than just a formal agreement; it is a tangible expression of our belief in the power of education, rehabilitation, and second chances,” said Ms. Jeanelyn Potestas, Social Concerns Center (SCC) Director, in her welcome remarks during the signing ceremony.
Under the MOA, LSU and the PPO will jointly conduct moral, spiritual, values, and legal formation activities, including supervised engagements facilitated by La Salle University Volunteer Probation Assistants.
The MOA signing was facilitated by the SCC and attended by Assistant Regional Director and Regional Officer-in-Charge Mae Dolorita K. Monicit, Parole and Probation Officer II Glessa Alcuizar, and LSU administrators led by University President Br. Rey Erezare Mejias FSC, University Chancellor Dr. Wenny Caseros and Vice President for Advancement and Linkages Br. Alexander Diaz FSC, along with members of the Theology faculty.
